Neet's Roti Recipe


A delicious and simple Indian style flat bread, from our chef Neet. This recipe uses our freshly milled wholewheat flour.




INGREDIENTS

1 cup whole wheat flour 

1/2 cup of water 

Salt pinch (optional)


optional additions may include onion, spring onion, garlic, coriander, mixed Indian spices - whatever you have to hand.




METHOD


  1. Mix all ingredients well with the hand.

  2. Knead gently.

  3. Rest the dough around 10-15 min in a bowl, room temperature, covering optional.

  4. After resting, smoothly knead the dough again for 1 min.

  5. Dough is now ready for roti( bread)

  6. Warm a frypan to medium hot

  7. Take a small spoonful portion, roll into a ball, dip in flour flatten into a small disc with your palm.

  8. If adding flavours, fold into each roti and finish shaping.

  9. Flour the bench, roll to 1/2 cm thick with rolling pin.

  10. Add Ghee or butter in the pan (optional)

  11. Fry for a minute or two each side until golden brown.
